Neilston got off to a weak start in the first of the league matches in this XII Province competition. Against a three-man Dalry Union team, the team of James H, Billy, Andy C and Graeme struggled in the first half of the match but did play better towards the end of the game. Final score …
In another close match in the Leggat on Monday Team Brian won out 5-4 against Team Billy to earn their first points in the league. With only two matches remaining there remains the possibility that any of the teams skipped by Billy or Brian or James H could lift the title.
An on-form Ferrie rink hit the ground running with a win over Team James R in their first match in the league. Next week sees them take on Team Brian.
Two XII Province competitions in which Neilston are taking part, the Ramshead Trophy and the Ladies League have been drawn and will see Neilston playing Dalry Union in the first match of the Ramshead on 14 October and Reform in the Ladies League on 11 October,
