Kirktonfield Knockout Final

Team Connie and Team JR Carswell in tough semi final scrap

In a match of high drama from the outset, Team Carswell stole a two shot lead at the first end before giving up a six at the second end. Undeterred they scored in the next four ends to take the lead after six ends. Skip Andy Connie played a draw to the four foot through a stone packed house to take a two in the seventh end. In the final end a guddle of red and yellow stones biting the button provided a tense wait for skip James Carswell's last stone attempt to nudge a red nearer the tee. Although making contact he was unable to move it enough to score, so it is Andy Connie's team of James H, Billy and Frazer who meet Team Heron in the final on Wednesday 15 January at 18:00.

Down to the wire

With only the last league game of the Kirktonfield knockout to be played on Wednesday between Team Heron and Team A Griffiths, four teams are vying for the top three slots. A win for Brian's team with 4 or more ends will see them straight to the final. But a win for Alan's team could consign Team JR Carswell to relegation. Work out all the permutations for yourself.
